Actix is a privately held company based in London, UK having been founded in 1991. Initially concentrating on a software system for drive test analytics for mobile networks, it has built up an enviable customer base of more than 230 operators, including 25 of the top 30 worldwide. Expanding into the wider aspects of performance management and optimisation, their comprehensive Actix One solution has been adopted by over 50 operators, positioning them as the leading performance management solution provider.
In September 2013, Amdocs announced they would acquire Actix for $120 million.
Products and Services
Actix One is a comprehensive performance optimisation suite, correlating real-time call and cell traces with churn records, customer complaints, network performance, competitive intelligence and social media data to provide the most complete picture of RAN performance.
This allows operators to report and benchmark their performance KPIs, determine when to accept newly installed equipment and where to prioritise further investment. SON (Self Organising Network) capabilities and open APIs for third party applications allow the system to integrate and deliver greater value as part of the wider back office operational management systems.
Small Cell Features
Actix enables efficient and effective planning, optimisation and performance management for both small cells and HetNets. This will be critical for operators to maximise the value of their network investment. Actix are positioning their solution as fully capable of pinpointing where and when small cells should be deployed, using SON features to optimise their benefits and detailed KPI measurement reporting to track the results.
