Fastback Networks is headquartered in San Jose, California. Founded in 2010 by Kevin Duffy and Kevin Nagus, formerly CEO and CTO of Proxim respectively, the company raised venture capital funding of $11m in 2011, $15m in 2013 and a further $15 in 2015. They acquired sub10, a UK startup specialising in 60/70GHz point to point millimeter wave links in May 2015.
Products
Fastback offers three different backhaul technologies:
- Non Line-of-Sight: Using 5GHz unlicenced band, proprietary technology squeezes high performance. Up to 800Mbps at 500 meters, 300Mbps at up to 13km with latency below 500us.
- Line of Sight in V-Band: Using 60GHz millimeter wave to achieve up to 1Gbps at ranges of up to 800m.
- Line of Sight in E-Band: Using 70/80GHz millimeter wave to achieve up to 1Gbps at ranges of up to 4km.
The Non-Line-of-Sight product was Fastback's original in-house development; the V-Band and E-Band products were originally developed by sub10.
