Bridgewave, based in Santa Clara, USA, is a large and well established vendor of wireless point to point links. Their product range extends from 11GHz to 38GHz microwave and 60-90GHz millimeter wave. With over 10,000 links in operation, they operate in 50 countries worldwide.
History
Founded in 1989, the company has grown to become a significant industry player. More recently, its marketing tends towards the 60GHz and 80GHz spectrum for 4G backhaul for both large and small cells. They have developed an in-house silicon germanium RF chipset for use at 80GHz to reduce component count, increase reliability (MTBF 74,000 hours) and reduce cost. Carrier grade features include security, encryption, remote management and low latency.
Products
FlexPort point to point links, operating at 18GHz, 23GHz and 24GHz microwave bands. The transport both older TDM-style transmission schemes (SONET/SDH) alongside modern Ethernet/IP shared across the same wireless link, enabling a smoother transition to 4G backhaul.
FE60U, GE60, AR60 and AR60X are separate 60GHz products with speeds from 100Mbps through 1Gbps at ranges from 1km to 2.4km.
Flex4G is their brand name for a range of 80GHz products with speeds from 100Mbps through 2.5Gbps at ranges up to 11km.
