Within the telecommunications area, they supply a range of timing and synchronisation solutions and it is these that are relevant to the femtocell industry. Specifically, Zarlink have developed the software algorithm used to calibrate and control the oscillator using a variety of inputs to produce a stable timing and synchronisation to meet required tolerances. In this case, they would not supply the crystal oscillator itself but the complementary software technology to keep it accurate and within tolerance over the long term.
