Rakon are a well established leader in oscillator and timing solutions, and have become the market leader in many of today's femtocell designs. The company is headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand where it was founded in 1967. The company has a strong presence in the GPS market, supplying huge volumes of crystals from its specialist production facilities. You will find their components in many market leading mobile phones and SatNav consumer devices.
After going public in 2006, Rakon acquired the frequency controlled product division of C-MAC, including their facilities in France and UK.
The company has designed a series of specialist femtocell timing products based on TCVCXO (Temperature Compensated Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator) technology. Their latest femtocell timing solution uses the so-called "Pluto" technology developed by their C-MAC acquisition. Components such as the RFPT400 achieve 0.1ppm frequency accuracy at a very competitive price.
