Stoke Stoke are based in Santa Clara, US with a development centre in Bangalore India. The company was founded by Randall Kruep in 2004 and is now led by Vikash Varma, formerly of P-Cube (sold to Cisco for $200M) and a General Manager at HP.

Their SSX-300 product is a security gateway, capable of terminating hundreds of thousands of concurrent IPsec tunnels, whilst also providing routing, authentication, QoS and DPI functions.

This is positioned as a security gateway component within a femtocell gateway, but can also be used standalone. It can also be used as a Packet Data Gateway or Packet Data Interworking Function.

Stoke was chosen as a Top 100 Red Herring company in January 2009, and raised a further $15 million round of funding in April 2009.
