TeliaSonera, which operates mobile networks in several Scandanavian countries, announced trials of Alcatel-Lucent's 3G femtocell solution in Denmark in Spring 2008. It was said to be trialling another vendor's product in Sweden in the same timeframe.

The company already offers a UMA based WiFi service called Home Free in three countries, and is reported to view femtocells as a natural evolution of this capability.
