Femto Forum expands to become the Small Cell Forum

Femto Forum LogoThe Femto Forum announced today that it has renamed itself to the Small Cell Forum, recognizing that the femtocell technology it has been promoting now addresses a wider range of indoor and outdoor applications.

ThinkSmallCell LogoWe're changing our name! Recognising that Femtocell technology is no longer limited to the home, the industry has been using the term Small Cells to encompass Femtocells, Picocells and Metrocells. Since we have already been covering this wider scope, we've decided to rename the website into ThinkSmallCell. You'll continue to find the same high quality articles, information and insight on our website - just don't be surprised when the new name appears.

China Update: Femtocell status at China Unicom

China Unicom FemtocellThinkFemtocell was one of the earliest to announce that femtocell activity had taken off in China. We'd referenced reports that China Unicom had launched a femtocell service in some northern provinces back in November 2009. Realising there hadn't been much press coverage since, we probed to look for any further updates.
