The most common technology for femtocells has been for the 3G UMTS standard, which is widely deployed around the world. However, femtocells have also been designed for a number of other technologies, such as CDMA, WiMAX and GSM. There are also a few niche players targetting specialist markets, such as outdoor/metro-femto.

This category lists many of these niche or alternative applications and is not intended to suggest these are not valid or well designed for their purpose. It is simply that the volume of product shipped is less than for maintream 3G UMTS markets.
