The company announced in March 2007 development of two families of femtocell products to be available in 2008, supporting both UMTS and CDMA technologies. TheHomePortal BaseStation will provide complete femtocell functionality while retaining the form and functionality of traditional HomePortal residential gateways, including full TR-069 standards compliance, a high performance ADSL or VDSL modem, a high-speed router, professional-grade firewall, integrated voice over IP, remote access capabilities, and flexible home networking options. They delivered a residential gateway to BT in the UK for their dual-mode GSM/WiFi solution marketed as BT Fusion, which runs over the Vodafone 2G mobile network and BT's DSL broadband. The company is headquartered in San Jose, California, USA and launched its first residential gateway product in 2000. Ted Fagenson, EVP Marketing and Business Development, promotes their product in this poor quality recording. He claims that femtocells are driven by operator requirements, initially for poor indoor coverage then data capacity, and explains his views on the end-user business case.
